WHAT IS INTERRAIL?

 INTERRAIL PASS is a pass ticket implementation applied by European Railway Enterprises and aiming to provide cheap transportation to the travelers. It is ensured getting on the desired train on desired time and place with the same ticket.

Interrail is not a kind of train where everyone travels as a group or only the ones having Interrail pass can get on.

A possibility of limitless free movement between 5 days and 1 month in 30 Europe countries within Interrail Global Pass and between 3 and 8 days in a chosen European country within Interrail One Country Pass.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHO CAN BUY?

Interrail Passes can be purchased by the citizens who are residing in Europe permanently or citizens of other countries who can prove their residence, by a document, in a European country for more than 6 months. Proof of citizenship can be established by a passport/identity card. Proof of residence can be established by government issued residency documents.

WHAT IS THE DURATION?

INTERRAIL GLOBAL PASS is available in 7 different types in accordance with the request of the passenger:

5 days within 15 days (Flexi)
7 days within 1 month (Flexi)
10 days within 1 month (Flexi)
15 days within 1 month (Flexi)
15 days continuous
22 days continuous
1 month continuous

INTERRAIL ONE COUNTRY PASS can be issued as 3, 4, 6 and 8 days within 1 month.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT IS FLEXI SYSTEM?

    *It is a more economical option for the ones choosing less travels.

    *It gives an opportunity to travel within a defined period by the traveler for 5, 7, 10 and 15 days with Interrail Global Pass and 3, 4, 6 and 8 days with Interrail One Country Pass.

      Example 1: Global Pass valid for 10 days within 1 month period. It gives the travelers an opportunity to travel by train only for 10 days within a defined period of 1 month.

      Example 2: Interrail One Country Pass for Germany for 8 days: It gives the traveler an opportunity to travel by train within the borders of Germany and for 8 days within defined 1 month.

    * The days for getting on the trains can be either successive or with intervals.

    * Trains can be used limitlessly within the selected days.

    * For the travels starting at/after 19:00 and to be continued after 04:00, the date of the next day will be valid.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INTERRAIL PASS PRICES

Prices (in Euro)

Interrail Global Pass and Interrail One Country Pass are issued for 1st and 2nd Class for adults (26 or over), seniors (60 or over) and youth (27 or under). Both passes are issued for 1st and 2nd class for adults (older than 26 years) and young people (younger than 27 years).  Within the framework of Family Concept in two pass services, the children under 4, not requesting a separate seat, travel free without issuing a pass on condition that an accompanying adult is available. The children under 4 and between 4-12 years, requesting a separate seat, can benefit from free pass service on condition that an accompanying adult is available and that the requested seat is in the same category and class. The context of free child is valid for 2 children per an adult. If an adult request to travel with more than 2 children, a young pass is issued for this child or children.

CURRENCY FOR SALES

It is required to make your payment for your pass ticket in Turkish Liras.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

IS THERE ANY OTHER PAYMENT IN ADDITION TO THESE PRICES?

It is required to make a reservation only in the routes where a reservation is compulsory. You can take any available seats in the other routes without reservation. However, the possibility of not finding an available seat in intense routes is high.

 

*In the routes requiring a reservation, we recommend you make reservations and make due payments in advance. In addition, you are required to pay the same reservation fee if you make reservation in order to guarantee your seat in intense routes in spite of no compulsory reservation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DOES INTERRAIL TICKET INCLUDE THE ACCOMMODATION?

No. Interrail ticket is only a train pass ticket. It does not include accommodation, guide and the like services.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHEN DOES IT START?

You will define the start date. Thus, you can set out on your journey any time of a year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHERE DOES IT START – FROM WHICH COUNTRY?

You can start your Interrail from any country you desire. If you want to start your travel from Turkey, you can also complete your travel with railway in Turkey by using your right for two travels, as 1 outbound and 1 inbound journey, offered by Interrail. Or, you can reach any country you desire via another means and start your Interrail there in the interest of saving time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

HOW AND WHEN CAN WE BUY?

You can buy your Interrail Pass ticket at the earliest 3 months before the start of your travel or one day before the date of travel as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


WHAT IS NEEDED TO BUY A TICKET?

When you will come to buy a pass ticket to the ticket offices, it is sufficient to take the price amount and your passport along with you as the passport number is issued on the pass ticket.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHERE CAN YOU BUY YOUR PASS TICKET?

Interrail Pass tickets can be bought from all ticket offices of TCDD stations open for international tickets sales and from the travel agencies such as Gençtur, Gemini Turizm, Cosmopolitan, Viking Turizm in Istanbul, Uygar Tours in Ankara and Ayanis Turizm in Van.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DO WE NEED TO MAKE RESERVATION BEFORE TRAVELING?

WHICH TRAINS CAN I USE MY INTERRAIL TICKET IN?

Certain special rules and charges for some trains are applied to the Interrail Pass holders. (Mentioned information is available in Interrail Travel Guide 2016 and Interrail Map 2016 provided the passenger along with the Interrail pass.) In addition, you have an opportunity to travel in sleeping/couchette coaches by paying extra charges.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

VISA?

It is necessary to obtain visas from all countries that you will pass through and apply visa for Turkish citizens before setting out on your journey. You cannot apply for a visa in other countries and borders.
