MARITIME TRADE AGREEMENT
Maritime Trade Agreement is signed for the transportation of the ports between İzmir and Thessalonik

Within the scope of the 4th Meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council between Turkey and Greece held in İzmir, Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 8th March 2016 between İzmir Port Operation Directorate and Thessaloniki Port Authority under the chairmanship of Professor Doctor Ahmet Davutoğlu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, and Mr. Aleksis Çipras, Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic.

 

Considering the union acquis, it was agreed to create strong bonds between the parties for the maritime trade by willing to develop cooperation between the parties primarily in the field of maritime transport and port industry.

 

The above mentioned agreement will enter into force after it is signed and will be valid for 2 years.
