RAILWAY NETWORK STATEMENT IS ISSUED
An important step in liberalization process of railways!

An important new step for the liberalization of the railway sector is taken.
 

Network Statement, prepared by TCDD and including necessary information on railway infrastructure network, access conditions, application, capacity allocation processes and issues about pricing for services provided, is endorsed by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and issued on 29 November 2016.
 

Liberalization Process of Railway Sector and Network Statement

As known, Law No. 6461 on Liberalization of Rail Transport in Turkey entered into force on 1 May 2013.

With the aforementioned Law:

  • TCDD was restructured as the railway infrastructure operator.
  • TCDD Transport JSC was established as an affiliated company of TCDD for providing freight and passenger transport operation.
  • Private train operation was enabled.
  • Private railway infrastructure operation was enabled.

Prepared by TCDD assigned as the infrastructure operator on the national railway network within the liberalized railway sector, the first Network Statement is issued. The issued network statement comprises the period of 01 January – 10 December 2017.

 

Aim of Network Statement

Network statement aims to provide information on the following issues to the train operators demanding a capacity for the infrastructure in the possession of TCDD:

  • General terms and conditions for the use of railway infrastructure in the possession of TCDD,
  • Issues to be fulfilled and considered in the course of capacity allocation,
  • Railway infrastructure and provided services,
  • Infrastructure access prices and pricing for services provided by TCDD.

 

CAPACITY ALLOCATION SCHEDULE FOR CAPACITY STATEMENT PERIOD OF 2017

The capacity allocation schedule for capacity statement period of 2017 is also determined as follows:

November 2016

Network Statement is issued on 29 November 2016.

November-December 2016

Demands for train path are taken between 30 November- 03 December 2016.

December 2016

Draft timetable will be announced between 04 - 18 December 2016.

December 2016

Coordination will be started upon taking the additional demands between 19 - 21 December 2016.

December 2016

Train path allocation will be made according to the demanded trains and additional demands between 22 - 27 December 2016. Access Contracts will be signed.

December 2016

Timetable for the period of 01.01.2017-10.12.2017 will be issued as of 27 December 2016.

December 2016
